The Key to Happiness ☯

I would define happiness as a state of being entirely satisfied and pleased with yourself and your surroundings. It was only until recently when I started thinking of myself as a “happy” person.  Before that I was always comparing myself to others, holding grudges, trying to be perfect at everything I did, and regretting past mistakes. But recently I learned that the key to being happy is in my own hands. I didn’t have to depend on others for the way I felt about myself. I realized that in order to be happy, I’d have to let go of the past and learn to move on and accept life as it is. Now, whenever I’m in a bad mood, I try to focus on all the positive things in my life, things that bring me happiness. The most important thing to remember is that you have control over your happiness. Surround yourself with relatively optimistic people, listen to upbeat music, express gratitude, find meaning for everything you do, believe in yourself, and savour every single moment. After all, you know what they say, the happiest people don’t have the best of everything, they just make the best of everything.

One of the most important things in my life is music. Music is what makes me happy and holds a very special place in my heart. Although it brings me happiness, it has the ability to alter my mood with any given circumstance, which is one of the reasons why I love it so much. I can go from feeling extremely depressed, to a state of great contentment within an instant. Music transports me to different dimensions; it sets me free. Whether I’m listening to it in my car while travelling, in bed before sleeping, at a party while dancing, or at home while cleaning my room, it helps me escape from the real world and just let myself go. It’s a way of expressing my emotions and feelings, and through it, I am able to relate to other people and their experiences. I’ve been listening to music for as long as I can remember. I still have a ton of old CD’s stacked up in my closet, with the artists ranging from Usher, Nelly, and Beyoncé, to Sean Paul, Vanessa Carlton, and The Black Eyes Peas. I even remember buying my very first iPod when it first came out. It brought me so much joy to be an owner of one of the most revolutionary music devices that was ever created. Ever since then, I’ve stored all my greatest tracks right in my iPod or on my phone. And the best part about it was that I could listen to my favorite songs anywhere, anytime! Apart from just listening to music, I like to create it as well. I’ve learned to play the violin and took classes for five years. I love to recreate my favorite songs and play the violin in my free time. It’s a passion for me. Playing the violin makes me feel like I’m amongst some of the greatest artists out there. I’ve even played in orchestras and have won medals for my performances.

As you can see, music is what brings me happiness. It gives me a reason to keep going. Happiness can be achieved anywhere, anytime. It is possible to learn to be happy or relearn as the case may be for many of us these days. You only need to have a fair grasp of the components of what makes a happy life and then include them in yours. All you have to remember is,

“Happiness is not by chance, but by choice.”  – Jim Rohn

My Passion for Cars

DSC_0525

Muhammad Sohaib Khan

Ever since I was a little boy, I have always had a passion for cars. I have always had the passion about the engineering, the design and the art of cars. I also enjoy reading about what the car is capable of doing. When I was young I started collecting small toy cars and parked them up on my study table. I told myself from that day, that my dream and my goal is to own a nice collection of classic and modern supercars one day. I grew up around cars. It was something that I had been around so much, that I grew to love it. As a kid, you would find car magazines and brochures on my shelves and Ferrari posters on my walls. Don’t ask me why cars are my passion, I can’t give you a qualified answer. As I grew older the passion of cars became more of the daily thing. I realized that real cars are more intricate and even more fascinating than the ones that fit in the palm of my hand. Each car has a beating heart of its own called an engine. I love the sound, speed and especially the looks of these rolling masterpieces.

The inspiration of cars will never escape out of my mind. This quality about me will never change or alter in any way. I dream them, I feel them and I think about them all the free time I have. There are many cars which are my favorite. Especially Lamborghini Aventador. It is a great supercar with a top speed of 350 km/h. I definitely want one.  Actually there is a list of cars that I want which include BMW, Mercedes, Ferrari, Bentley, Lexus, Pagani, Hummer, Maybach, RollsRoyce, Range Rover and so on. It is my dream to drive world’s fastest sports car Bugatti Veyron. Officials recorded an average top speed of the original version of 408.47 km/h. It is my dream to own that car one day.

But the car I love is my own Honda Civic Reborn. I just can’t find pleasure in driving any other car.  It gives me happiness like no other thing can. Its top speed is 214 km/h up to which I have driven it.  It is the best car I ever had. There is no alternative for it. It has a 1.8 i-VTEC engine which gives it ultimate speed. The power you can feel while accelerating it is just something that is so amazing.

I was quiet, a loner. I was one of those children, if you put me in a room and gave me some crayons and a pencils, you wouldn’t hear from me for nine straight hours. And I was always drawing racing cars, rockets and planes, things that were very fast that would take me away.

Hi guys! I am Ali Nawaz. I am a twenty-one year grad student out in the cyber world to make friends. I decided to blog so that people have a better insight about me and my interests which are watching movies and reading. My real passion is movies. Mostly I like thriller, comedy, action or horror movies. After watching I like to dissect it with my friends. Movies are based or adapted from books. This gave birth to my reading interest.

In my early age I started liking animation movies like Charlotte’s Web and the Wizard of Oz. I loved to see the animations and discuss with my mother. Seeing my interest my mother used to bring movies with their counterpart books. All the Harry Potter movies also entered the scene. J.K. Rowling is an excellent writer and the movies differed from her books which was quite annoying at times for me. The books “The Lord of the Rings” and Demons by Dan Brown were different from the movies as well.

I began comparing English and Indian movies which were a copy. Though some movies have done quite well others don’t even show a slightest bit of change in the story line. The recent movie Bang Bang is a 85% copy of a Tom Cruise movie. Some pick up comic scenes or action sequences but guys don’t you see the movies doing big business are not copies but originals. Movies like Avatar, Titanic and Terminator are original. Same goes for 3 Idiots, Jodha Akbar and Don.

Added to that is the fact that parodies hold much more interest to people. Take Om Shanti Om for instance which is a parody of Karz or the Hollywood success Scary Movies which make fun of all the kill trill movies. Now that is great comic stuff.Due to my knowledge, my interest in debating developed. It helped me to build confidence and adopt many special skills. I started off by joining the debating society. Debating was becoming a passion for me day by day.

In this experience I explore many different people and places. Now I am planning for Harvard Model United Nation. I believe one day there would be change in our society if we raise our voice.

So here I am willing to discuss and shred movies and books with you and some of my experiences in life Boys and girls, this is Ali signing off.

FASHION FADES, STYLE REMAINS FOREVER!

yo Writing about one’s own self may not be that easy for some people but I personally love exploring
67554c3f9b06e5d1f2c68dc198ebb1abmy thoughts. In such a competitive world, it’s extremely hard to prove yourself to the world. There’s a saying ‘’First impression is the last’’, some might agree and some or majority may disagree. Obviously you need a long time to pass your judgment about a person, but why would you even want to give someone a second shot whose first impression is not appealing enough to approach him/her the second time.

It’s important for every person to have inner beauty, but reality is without perfect outer appearance it’s not that easy to mark your presence except if you are carrying certain extra ordinary qualities! If this is not the bitter truth, there might not have been these much dietitians and cosmetic surgeons around and not every woman at the age of thirty would want to get a Botox!

”I dress for the image. Not for myself, not for the public, not for the fashion, not for men -Marlene Dietrich”

As there is growing great importance for outer beauty and huge scope for stylists, fashion designers and personal trainers, I am planning to start my own clothing line soon.Every person has now realized the importance and power of great looks and everyone wants to be either the trend setter or the trend follower of the world. I have a great taste in fashion, I follow top fashion blogs like Kayture, play with colors and patterns, I watch fashion weeks and just worship those clothes made by my favorite fashion designers like Ellie Saab, Karl Lagerfeld, Alexander Mcqueen and Valentino.

Nobody can succeed without giving their hundred percent and you surely can’t give your hundred percent in something that your heart and brain are not coordinating in, that will make you a robot. So follow your heart and never do something that gives you no peace of mind.

Having not going to a fashion school doesn’t mean I can’t prove myself as a fashion designer, those are the skills I have inside me and I plan on using my marketing degree for selecting the best marketing and advertising techniques for my own clothes. It’s extremely important to look good and everyone has a right to look fab and your clothes really matter. In the end Fashion fades but your style is eternal, so how you carry and what you carry does matter at all times.

” Living on the edge “

Living on the edge takes nothing more than stepping out of your comfort zone and living your dreams. Unfortunately, a large portion of society struggles with this concept, for they are fearful of losing an unfounded sense of security they have found through building mental boundaries around themselves. Many people search for relief, turning to songs and blogs with messages pertaining to their troubles. Mysterious is what life seems to be and time seems too short for us to enjoy it. Most of us are often told to live life to the fullest but we were never told how to do so. As we grow, we continue to search on how we will make our life worth living. We tend to be adventurous to try to know the world and what we can do to say that our life is worth living. Life offers many challenges but through the love that I received from my family and friends, I become strong enough to face them. Love that I can receive as I live in what makes my life worth living. The opportunity to receive and share it to others really makes my life worth living. Happy moments that I spend with my loved ones also make my life worth living. So as, I’m growing up I’m doing everything that, I love to do and putting effort into it for a valuable result.

man-standing-on-edge-of-cliff

We were put on this earth to do something special with our lives and we should never take that for granted. People that do not do everything to the best of their abilities aren’t only cheating themselves, but also the others around them. because if you don’t you will missed out, so many great opportunities. If you don’t do the best you can in everything than you’ll never know how far you could have gotten. Take a sport for instance, if you don’t practice than you’ll never get any better. Yet if you do put everything you have into that sport you will become one of the best athletes in that field. You can apply that same determination to school work, your job, your marriage, pretty much anything you do in life you should do your best. Not only you will succeed in life, if you do your best, but you even will be happy with yourself.

live-edge

I give my all in everything that I do because I know that I may never get a second chance. I believe that trying my hardest in every aspect of my life will help me to be more content with the result of those things. If I try the most that I can and still don’t succeed, I still know that there is no way that I could have put forth more effort in order to alter the outcome of that situation.

Sometimes you don’t realize that how many tomorrows you may have however knowing the Importance of your life and making it count, I decided to achieve everything that I ever wished for, I believe that life should be lived on the edge to live life to its extent.

” I want to stand as close to the edge as I can without going over. Out on the edge you will see all kinds of things you can’t see from the centre”

Utopian Addict

Our lives are full of new experiences every single day. It is filled with the highs and the lows, grief and sorrows but mostly joyous occasions. An ability that is greatly enhanced through the various experiences of one’s life is his creativity. Every single human being views life in new ways or from a completely different perspective. They have been blessed with a unique ability to develop new objects or new ideas. This is when a person is said to be “creative.” Due to creativity individuals are unique in their thoughts, actions and behavior. If a person has ideas but does not act upon them, then he is called imaginative but not creative. Creative people are full of energy and full of wonder who think outside the box. A person with the least of the resources, I would say has the greatest possibility of being creative. This plays a major role in developing a person’s personality.

creativity

As I walk down the memory lane I see myself as an introvert who has never wanted to face the world. This might be bit cruel for me myself but unfortunately it is quite true. I always portrayed myself as a hero for all generations to come just like Superman and Batman with a world full evil all around me but just in a room. I called my room an ‘Imaginary box,’ where I could lie down easily and plan on how to save the world. Too proud even to watch the super hero cartoons and I being a mature child always believed that heroes lived in us. They just needed to be exposed at the right time. I remember having sleepless nights due to continuous planning on how to save my school or the president of our country in order to save him from a terrorist attack. The common path in all the plans was usually an underground tunnel. I am sure you would be finding this quite dumb and funny as you read along but was how I was. I can proudly say ‘not anymore.’

SupermanJLBColorWeb

Living in my own Utopian world with my door always locked far away from the world and its people I could easily ignore the reality. This was where I was just an ordinary child who used to crave for ice cream and chocolates. There was something in my mind that made me believe that I am the greatest and could surpass all mankind. To this day I still am finding that narrow underground tunnel for the urge to achieve greatness. One never knows what the next step might bring yo you.

Feeling down? Saddle up!

DSC_0906I remember standing in middle of the ground right next to him as he let loose his new horse, Caesar. The majestical stallion ran wild and free with the sun shinning on his black coat that was trimmed to perfection. His canter formed a rhythm that seized my eyes and his mane bounced on his perfectly arched neck as he ran across the ground. His limitless energy and power made it look as though the ground would split under his hoofs. The divine creature had so much unused energy inside of him that he would kick, head buck and roll on the ground time and time again. Every time Caesar would rear, his muscles would become even more defined and I was standing there looking in awe. As we stood there he began charging towards us with full throttle, with his chest out and head high. Fear did not take over me yet I was paralyzed and had a rush and he was three feet away; still galloping towards us. It was when he was almost upon us that i budged and the magnificent stallion turned towards the gate and opened it by pushing the hook with his nozzle.

Although I was only 11 years old, I recognized his intelligence, splendor and power of the animal. Following him timage1o the stalls I reached his stable to realize that he knew exactly where he was supposed to go. I threw water over his steaming body to cool him down and then fed him leaves. As I did so, he nudged his face across my body in appreciation. Caesar was untamed in his ways yet so gentle.

StarBuck

This was the beginning of my fondness for horses and interest in horse riding. After riding in the very same ground for 5 years, spending hours at a time with these fine-looking animals and learning about and from them; I had chosen one for myself. Starbuck, my liver chestnut gelding taught me how to be in the moment and make the most of it. I fell in love with him when I first laid eyes on him. With the most proportional quarters, the white markings on his legs and mane he was just perfect. Always free spirited, filled with energy he moved with attitude. It was because of his rebellious personality I liked him even more and I took training him myself as a challenge. Horses are most definitely one of the most graceful and beautiful animals. They perceive us in a pure way, they are non judgmental, undistracted by words, appearance or our social standing. The beauty of a horse as a mans best friend is that you cant fool them. -Onaiza Usman
